Ethical and Sustainable - How our Australian Sapphires are mined
Australian Sapphires can be found in two distinct regions on the Eastern side of the Australian continent. In NSW they are found within the New England district of Northern NSW near Inverell and Glenn Innes. For Queensland, sapphires are found within the Anakie Gemfields around the villages of Sapphire and Rubyvale, and to the west of Emerald. NSW fields have large open cut mechanical mining whereas the Queensland fields have both open cut and small underground operations.
Combined with support from the Australian government, Australian sapphires are mined under government oversight with strong pro-environmental and worker laws. Once a sapphire deposit has been exhausted, it is rejuvinated to its original state. The final result being the mined area returned to normal.
Therefore, these gemstones are an attractive option for the ethical and sustainably focused clientele.'

In the rare event that a defect or imperfection is detected, you are invited to send it back to us to be inspected by an SGA jewellery expert.
